Making Work fun: Performance rewarded with a Trip to Mallorca
The beautiful island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean is always worth a visit. However, this trip to Mallorca was truly something very special: logineer\'s parent company q.beyond AG invited a whole group of employees who had been honoured with the annual q.beyond Award to spend some fantastic days in this Mediterranean paradise.
It is a great tradition at q.beyond AG to ask all employees once a year who they think has excelled in the past twelve months and deserves an award for it. The focus is on who has gone the extra mile in terms of customer focus, team spirit, reliability or pragmatism. And it is of course of particular value that the nomination is not made by superiors, but by our ourcolleagues. The final decision is taken by a jury, which also includes an employee representative. This year, 26 people from the q.beyond universe were delighted to receive the award.

The Trip for the winners of the q.beyond Award
According to the motto “One q.beyond”, the subsidiaries can also take part in the competition for the highly coveted award. In addition to logineer, these include the branches in Latvia and Spain. This shows how closely we work together in the q.beyond Group.
Of course, we are always delighted to see people from logineer being honoured. Last year it was my colleagues Birgit Busch (Business Account Management) and Aliaksandra Hryshchanka (Commercial Management). This year, I was delighted to receive the award and was naturally extremely proud when I was handed the certificate at the last Christmas party.
But the best part of the q.beyond Award always comes a few months later, when the weather is mild and the evenings are long: the invitation to an exclusive weekend trip for all award winners to a beautiful place in Europe. Last year it was Amsterdam, this time Mallorca was on the itinerary. As a sun and water lover, it was just the right place for me!
A special kind of team building
Everything was just right on this trip: the glorious June weather, the great destination and, above all, wonderful travelling companions. As we experienced most of the trip as a group, it was also a special kind of team building. After all, when else do you have the opportunity to meet a colleague from a completely different area of the company in person or to exchange ideas with an employee from Riga? The group was also accompanied by the q.beyond CEO Thies Rixen and CFO Nora Wolters. They took the opportunity to introduce each of them to the group. They were also available for individual discussions throughout the trip.
Beach moments and old town flair
Our beautiful hotel ‘Europe Playa Marina’ in Illetas on the south-west coast of Mallorca, around ten minutes by car from the island's capital Palma, is located between two sandy bays and has direct access to the sea. The ideal prerequisite for visiting the lively island capital on the one hand and enjoying beach life on the other. And both were on our programme.

As soon as we arrived, we went straight to a trendy beach club, where we socialised over paella and a glass of wine. A warm atmosphere quickly developed and there was a lot of laughter. In the evening, we went for a stroll through the old town of Palma. We couldn't miss out on a bit of education and so we were able to visit the historical private Can Vivot manor house including its impressive library, a Mallorcan palace from the 15th century. We finally got together for dinner in a traditional tapas bar.
Mediterranean flavours
On the second day, we first travelled to the mountain village of Valldemossa. At a finca in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - we were treated to an olive oil tasting and a Mallorcan picnic. The highlight of the day was without doubt the catamaran tour from Palma along the coast of Mallorca. In the evening sun, we were spoilt on board with delicacies from the barbecue. We also had the opportunity to jump into the sea from the boat and swim in the crystal-clear water.
On our return journey the next day, we reviewed the great experiences. And everyone agreed: it was a perfectly organised trip with a great programme - and above all super-nice colleagues from a wide range of q.beyond divisions. This is what makes work fun: when special efforts are rewarded with such rewards!
