What does Jana Fischer actually do?
logineer stands for IT in international logistics. It is our employees who bring this claim to life: we employ computer scientists who are very familiar with logistics and forwarding merchants who are passionate about IT. They are all experienced experts working for us all over the world. We would like to introduce them to you here: We begin with Jana Fischer, CargoWise Consultant at logineer
Dear Jana, how long have you been with logineer? In what position and at what location can you be found?
Jana: I have been working at logineer since May 2023 – in the CargoWise Consulting division at the Hamburg office.

What tasks do you have at logineer?
Jana: I work on various customer projects and have a wide range of tasks there. For example, I am currently checking and preparing a company's CargoWise master data. An important part of my work is always the final adaptation of the important CW2Accounting interface for our customers, embedding it in their transport management processes. CW2Accounting makes it possible to transfer transaction data from CargoWise to an accounting system.
What qualifications do you have and where did you work before joining us?
Jana: I studied logistics and technical business administration at HAW Hamburg, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2020. Immediately afterwards, I started my career at the IT service provider Akquinet directly in CargoWise consulting. So I was working in the same area there as I am at logineer today.
What characterises your work?
Jana: The variety is what makes it special: we have a wide range of customers of whom each one has their own individual processes that we must adapt to. It is very exciting to see how differently companies deal with challenges. And because our customers are not only based in Germany, we interact with different cultures and different ways of working.
I really enjoy my job because it connects IT and logistics. I myself come more from the IT angle, but there are also a few former freight forwarders in our team. Together, we cover everything needed to help customers optimise their systems.
How do you overcome tricky challenges?
Jana: I try to look at challenges from different angles in order to find the best solution for all parties. And sometimes it helps to get a good night's sleep and then approach the issue again the next morning with a fresh set of eyes.
What was your biggest success at logineer and what goals have you set yourself in your work with us?
Jana: I don't know what I would call my greatest success. But it's always great to see a customer go live smoothly with our support. That's not just my success, but a team effort, because we almost always work with several people on a project, mastering the task together.
What fascinates you about the connection between IT and logistics?
Jana: Without logistics, our lives would be extremely hard. IT makes it easier for logistics. Today, logistics companies can only survive against the competition with a modern, efficient IT landscape. That's why I'm passionate about helping them with their digitalisation.

A quick glance into your personal life: where do you live and what do you like to do in your free time?
Jana: : I live in Bergedorf, on the eastern edge of Hamburg, which is where I grew up. If you ask my colleagues, it's no longer Hamburg 😊. In my free time, I'm either with my horse enjoying nature or you can find me in a gymnasium playing handball.
Where do you want to live in ten years?
Jana: I currently feel very comfortable in Bergedorf. Here you can find a good combination between the comfort of city life and the quieter life of a more rural area. Maybe I will move even further out of the city at some point, but currently I feel very comfortable here. Whether this is then in Germany or in another country, I cannot say at the moment.
Which picture, book or song do you particularly like – and why?
Jana: I love listening to music, but I'm not limited to one genre or one artist. I have a large playlist that never fails to amaze my friends because it includes a lot of old songs. They say things like, ‘With your playlist, it's like changing clubs every five minutes.’ And so it is with my favourite songs: they include Played-a-Live by Safari Duo, Poison by Alice Cooper, Lemon Tree by Fools Garden and Nessaja by Peter Maffay.
