logineer presented itself with its own booth at the ISCC

It was the first time that logineer participated in an important industry event with its own booth: The IT service provider presented its solutions for the complete digital logistics workplace at the International Supply Chain Conference (ISCC) in Berlin in October and made extensive use of the opportunity to network at the first major live event since the start of the pandemic.

The annual congress had been organised by the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL), the German Logistics Association, to address the pressing topics of the industry. This time, about 2,000 specialists and managers from national and international logistics and logistics-related industries accepted the invitation.

From supply chain to sustainability

The motto of ISCC 2022 was "Supply Chains matter!" And so the presentations and discussions deal for example, with cooperation and the integration of players in supply chains, new approaches to planning and controlling supply chains, technical solutions up to and including artificial intelligence and political framework conditions such as the Supply Chain Act.

Bianca Heitmann, Solutions Manager CargoWise, attended the congress for logineer - together with Managing Director Torsten Beyer and Customer Service Manager Stefan Riese. She and her colleagues also observed: "The topics of sustainability, resilience and skills shortages were also omnipresent – in presentations and also in the many conversations we were able to have at the congress."

At the evening Senate Reception of the Logistics Initiative Hamburg (LIHH), which she attended, the skills shortage was the major topic on the agenda, says Heitmann. "The keynote by sociologist Dr Florian Butollo, who deals with this as a scientist, was very impressive. One of his theses was that while digitalisation replaces part of the jobs, it also considerably upvalues existing ones and creates many new ones."

logineer made intensive use for networking at the International Supply Chain Conference

The Senate Reception also offered many opportunities to meet the Who's Who of the industry. logineer not only had its own booth at the ISCC, but as a Hamburg company was also represented as one of 15 partners of the Logistics Initiative Hamburg: logineer has been presented by the renowned association in its HANSELOUNGE and invited to the Senate Reception.

Bianca Heitmann’s conclusion is therefore positive: "We were able to raise our profile as a young company at the ISCC and make many useful contacts. The discussions with other technology providers and initiatives were also exciting, for example the digital delivery note project, which is very interesting for the topic of transport management.

Tackling the challenge of logistics with digitalisation

The logineer team was also very satisfied with the congress in terms of its own core topics: "The logistics industry has a huge backlog to catch up on when it comes to digitalisation. But probably all forwarders have now understood that nothing will work without extensive use of IT. This was also noticeable at the ISCC: IT topics were in great demand."

With its services for the digital logistics workplace, logineer was represented in all the important topics of the congress: office IT (Modern Workplace by Microsoft), software integration (e.g. SAP Finance), industry-specific software (e.g. the CargoWise transport management system) or cyber security solutions.

"As an IT partner specialising in logistics, we can significantly support the industry in its digitalisation efforts," summarises Managing Director Torsten Beyer. "Those who use up-to-date IT solutions remain attractive as employers and as service providers. They can offer modern workplaces with all important applications and can supply their customers efficiently and thus sustainably. Cyber security solutions, such as those provided by logineer, enable forwarders in making their IT secure and at the same time make an important contribution to the resilience of their supply chains."
